GOSI extends the due date for registering previous periods of employees working at governmental bodies, institutions and general authorities covered by the insurance law.

The spokesperson of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Abdul Jabbar, announced that GOSI is keen to give the chance to its contributors working at governmental agencies, institutions and general authorities and covered by the insurance law to register the previous periods which have not been registered on due date. As they missed the deadline for registering such periods in Rabi II 1440H, HE the Minister of Labor and Social development and Chairman of GOSI, kindly issued a decision to extend the due date until 5 Jumada I 1441H corresponding to 31 December 2019.
After this defined date, Mr. Abdullah added, no periods will be registered retroactively for more than two years prior to the date of submitting the application for registration.
He further stated that the referred decision is restricted to categories previously covered by the social insurance law, whose employers are registered at GOSI but have not submitted the registration forms on time. The decision excluded the employees who are not basically covered by social insurance law like (articles of literacy, temporary work, hourly-based contracts and Article (105) of Ministry of Education).
Employers from governmental agencies, institutions and general authorities, as well as employees, are called to promptly ensure that all their services are registered in the system so that their insurance rights can be duly protected.
