Last July, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) renewed the international accreditation certificate complying with ISO 27001-2013 standard for information security by the International Standard Certification Organization (ISC). The certificate was received by the Assistant Governor of Information Technology, Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Omran in his office located in GOSI.
On this occasion, Mr. Al-Omran stated that the renewal of GOSI as an accredited party applying and complying with the international standards in the field of in information security is an affirmation of its keenness and commitment towards its clients. GOSI was able to apply the required procedures and adopt the best practices to minimize such risks threatening information security and continued to provide services to its clients. Furthermore, he stressed that the organization pays great attention to information security since its inception by applying modern technologies with the aim of monitoring the operations performed through various e-channels. It also worked on protecting data from vulnerabilities that affect the validity of the data and adopted an effective management approach to ensure the continuity of business and reduce the impact of disasters.
It is worth mentioning that the organization has been approved as a body applying the ISO 27001-2013 standard for the first time in 2016. The ISO certificate in information security is the most popular and most important certificate in this field, as it is a comprehensive standard for all components of information security starting with awareness-raising until accessing the protection of sensitive information against unauthorized use.
