GOSI Governor Mr. Soliman bin Saad Al-Humayyd received 39 inspectors who came to take the oath of office. During the oath taking ceremony held at the Head Office on July 3, Mr. Al-Humayyd stressed the importance of their role in achieving GOSI objectives.

Mr. Al-Humayyd highlighted their responsibility for protecting the contributor rights, securing compliance with the Social Insurance Law and its Regulations, finding employer violations, clarifying the nature of violations for employers, and coordinating between GOSI and other government agencies to ensure good practice.

"You are entrusted with the task of making sure that Saudi contributors do have a real work relation with establishments under which they are registered. By doing so, fake Saudization cases will be reduced," the Governor said.

Mr. Al-Humayyd urged the inspectors to make sure that all establishments and their workers are covered under the scheme, and that the real wages of Saudi and non-Saudi workers are registered in the system.

In a statement following the ceremony, the Governor said that "The number of inspectors has now increased to 101. The electronic boom witnessed by GOSI has led to a surplus in the number of employees working in certain departments. Therefore, such employees were trained and qualified to become inspectors. This action was taken to secure compliance with the Social Insurance Law and its Regulations, raise awareness about social insurance, and keep pace with the growth in the number of scheme-registered establishments (over 237,000) and contributors in employment (over 4.5 million)".
