Under the patronage of the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) His Excellency Mr. Soliman bin Saad Al-Humayyd, GOSI held an honoring ceremony for its retirees in 2009 in the auditorium at the Head Office in Riyadh on June 12, 2010.

The ceremony was commenced by reciting verses of the Holy Quran.

Then, Mr. Abdulrahman A. Abdulmajeed delivered a speech on behalf of the retirees in which he thanked GOSI for holding this ceremony, praising the services provided by GOSI to the contributors and beneficiaries.
Following that, the Governor delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, commending the great efforts made by GOSI retired employees during their work period. Mr. Al-Humayyd stressed that retirement is not the end of working life, but it is the beginning of a new phase in all fields of life.

Regarding GOSI achievements in the field of insurance, the Governor said that the number of contributors in employment has reached 4,5 million, while the registered establishments exceeded 237,000. He also said that the monthly pensions paid to more than 252,000 beneficiaries have exceeded SR 681 million. "All GOSI tasks are managed by national cadres", the Governor said.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Al-Humayyd thanked the retirees, wishing them all success in their life. Then, He handed over commemorative plaques and appreciation certificates to the retirees.

Mr. Al-Humayyd invited the attendees to a tea ceremony held on this occasion.

The honoring ceremony was attended by a number of GOSI officials, employees and former retirees.
The number of retirees in this year was 26, including Mr. Abdulrahman A. Abdulmajeed, Director of Makkah Office; Mr. Falah A. Al-Khaldi, Director of Jubail Office; Mr. Mohammad A. Al-Kharaz, the Assistant Director of Qassim Office; Mr. Abdullah I. Al-Qunaibt, Director of Deposits and Loans Division; and Mr. Mansour S. Al-Marshad, Director of  Benefits at Riyadh Office.
